Spotify Pass
The Challenge: How might Spotify serve music discovery using AI on new surfaces based on implicit (behavioral) and explicit (user-directed) signals?
Spotify Pass is an AI-driven discovery layer that transforms the Geographic and Situational signals of a user's daily commute into a dynamic listening experience. It treats the "people you pass" and the "places you move through" as a new surface for music curation.
Instead of just relying on a static algorithm, Spotify Pass bridges the gap between what a user does and what they know Spotify knows.
This project explores social computing and graphics visualization to show how music can serve as a connective tissue in urban environments. It turns passive data into an interactive, "whimsical" experience that encourages users to connect with their surroundings in a new way.
